Mini haul - bath products.

So, it may come as a shock to some of you that I've never purchased anything from lush before! As it's my birthday this Wednesday and I had a card early (I know I shouldn't have opened it!) I used the money to have a little try and here's what I picked up :-

I decided three was a good well rounded choice and to be honest I couldn't smell a thing in the shop as it can be quite potent, I just liked the look of these!
I've got the Snowman Ballistic which was £2.50, a Cinders Ballistic at £2.45 and the Candy mountain bubble bar at £2.65.

I'm really excited to try them and see what they'll do to the bath, my skin and if they're worth the hype they get. One thing that did confuse me was the assistant asked why I hadn't labelled them..? I didn't see any labels to do so and he didn't explain that was protocol. If you know the etiquette of shopping in Lush please fill me in!

I then popped to Marks and Sparks to fill up on my favourite range of bathing products.

I've mentioned the Natures extracts range before and I still mean every word, they're so lovely, affordable and the lemon verbena is something to shout about. So I picked up a lemon verbena bath, a scrub and a peach and almond cream bath and it all came to £5.50 as it was a 3 for 2 offer as usual.

All I have to do now is find time to spend a few hours in the bath!

Christmas Beauty Picks.

I've mentioned the dreaded word (for some!) Christmas!!!
I absolutely love Christmas, and I'm already well under way planning what to buy who and what colour scheme to have etc.

Here are some of the presents I've found so far for your loved ones, or yourself!

(asos.com)

This is the Ciaté advent calender.. Wow! I had heard a little bit about this from Ruth but hadn't seen it anywhere until now. This fabulous idea is £42.00, now that price may be a bit eek when you initially look at it but you're getting a polish for roughly every two weeks of the coming year without the combinations you could make. It's also the most unique and quaint advent calender you'll ever have!

(asos.com)

This is the L'Occitane cherry blossom gift set; at £34.00 it includes a hand cream, a lotion, a shower gel and an eau de toilette. I can vouch (from borrowing someone else's!) that a little goes a long way with these products and the cherry blossom is a divine smell.

(boots.com)

Another advent calender! - Just in-case that many nail polishes wouldn't suit you or whoever you're buying for Boot's have come up with this cute idea. It claims a selection of miniature and full size are inside but that's all it's giving away, so it truly is a surprise! This is £30.

(lush.co.uk)

This is a Lush bath bomb gift set, Louise from sprinkleofglitter recently had the little house and it looked gorgeous in the bath. This set is £18.95, a real luxury gift.

Laura Mercier @ John Lewis

Now I did a post earlier on this week about my experience and findings at the John Lewis PR event, but I wanted to devote a post all on it's own to the Laura Mercier representative.

(johnlewis.com)

I spotted the infamous hand creams that majority of beauty bloggers fall over themselves for, I've never had one nor have I ever smelt one so I marched up to get a good look.
The smell of them is to die for, I have to say! although individually priced at £43.50 which may not be in all of our budgets - I do believe there will be packs for Christmas with a variety of smaller sizes.

The representative there was the most helpful, polite and genuine person you could hope for, unfortunately I didn't catch his name but there was no trying to 'hard sell' he just calmly talked about the products with passion and told us about the background of the flavours and Laura taking inspiration from France and the creme patisseries.
We left the counter with an extremely positive view of the brand and John Lewis and he really couldn't have been more helpful. So thank you!

I urge you to pop into John Lewis and ask about the brand, the background and just a general chat about the products!

John Lewis Christmas Event

So on Tuesday I was very lucky to be invited as a plus one of my lovely friend Ruth from Chic and Cheerful , to John Lewis' Christmas PR event. I've never been to anything like this before and this little blog is still very new so it was a wonderful insight!

Love this little set up!

The event was based in the Park Plaza  and featured Christmas decorations, food, technology, beauty and fashion. It looked beautiful!

Something that caught my eye but I didn't have the guts to try was a Marmalade vodka!
(Johnlewis.com)

If you're a fan of different flavours with vodka and or looking for a present for someone who has everything, this is a must, it smells just like marmalade - Paddington bear Snr would approve!

Now, for the show stopper of technology (for me anyway!)

This is an Ipad submerged under water your eyes are not deceiving you! The helpful representative was suggesting this would be great for under water pictures and so on but all I could think was, oh great! when I take my Ipad in the bath I won't have to worry.
I can't find it on the website as of yet but keep your eyes peeled for this one - an investment to save a lot of money!

Finally, Liz Earle were displaying their Christmas stock, from the larger size limited edition cleanse and polish for £19.75
To the much coveted Jan Constantine stocking
This is jam packed with goodies and is priced at £50.00, a bargain when a little birdy told me the stocking costs in the region of £30 on it's own.

I would like to say a big thank you to John Lewis for having me, I really enjoyed getting to have a good nose at all the goodies to come!

Ebay finds!

Who doesn't love an ebay bargain? They're like the modern charity shop. There's always a chance you'll have a bad experience but 9/10 you find a gem when you look hard enough. Here are a few I love :)

Gypsy skirts - now these are so versatile and suit all shapes and sizes, they come in every colour and I think the cheapest I found was about £2.99! Perfect with a big slouchy jumper or a long sleeve top, parka and eye catching scarf for winter.

I'm nearly hyperventilating as I've found this! a few months ago I bought a copycat lookalike of the Celiné robot/smiley face bags and I've just found this Willow from Mulberry dead ringer. At £19.95 and free delivery it's a dreaaaaaaam.

A bit weird and out there but isn't this a lovely lamp shade? It baffles what you can find on Ebay!

What have you guys found recently?
